Tax Strategy
Tax preparation happens in April. Tax strategy happens the other eleven months. Most business owners only hear from their CPA once a year — long after every chance to save money has passed. We do the work that actually changes what you owe.
We handle multi-year tax planning, S-corp restructuring, audit preparation, and coordination with our partner enrolled agents and tax attorneys, R&D and energy credits, Section 45B FICA Tip Credit for salon clients, and year-end planning every November and December.
This work fits business owners who have outgrown their tax preparer — owners with real income, multiple entities, employees, or a feeling that they've been paying more than they should and no one has been able to tell them why.
Operational Advisory
Bookkeeping happens once. Operational advisory happens every month. Most business owners only see their numbers once a year —at tax time—and by then it's too late to change anything. We work with your numbers every month, so you know what's happening while there's still time to do something about it.
We close your books every month and send you a clear monthly report showing your sales, your profit, how much to set aside for taxes, how much cash you have, and how much you've paid yourself. We meet with you every three months to talk through the numbers and decide what to do next. And we answer your phone calls and emails in between.
This work is for owners who are tired of waiting until April to find out how their business is doing. Owners who want to talk to a real advisor — not log into a website to check a report nobody explained.
Business Systems
The structure of your business decides how much you pay in taxes, how much risk you carry in an audit, and how easy it is to grow. Most business owners only think about this once — when they first opened. By then they were busy learning the business and just picked whatever the lawyer or website suggested. That original setup is usually wrong by now.
We set up new LLCs and S-corps the right way. We restructure businesses whose original setup is costing them money. We build accountable plans that let you legally use the business to pay for things you're using for the business. We sort out W-9 collection and 1099 filing so the IRS doesn't penalize you. We review worker classification — the biggest audit risk in the salon industry — and fix it before it becomes a problem. We handle sales and use tax registration, monthly filings, and audit defense. And we file Business Personal Property tax every year.
